Java Wavelet Demo

Two Scale Pick Analysis Denoise Compression Engine

Pick Your Wavelet

This applet demonstrates the parameterization of the scaling coefficients. All the length-6 orthogonal wavelets can be parameterized by two free parameters from -Pi to Pi. You are encouraged to click or drag the mouse in the left-hand figure to adjust those two parameters. Watch the wavelet (yellow line) and/or scaling function (red line) change in the right-hand figure. The parameters and scaling coefficients are displayed in the text area.

For classical wavelets, pull down the [Wavelets] menu.

As you may find out, good wavelets are not easy to come by. So researches are going on to design wavelets for various applications.

The parameterization we use here is due to H. L. Resnikoff.
